KARA“s Seungyeon and Gyuri have taken some time out from their busy schedule to record a song for the OST of KBS drama “Iron Man“!

The song is titled “Hello” and its an acoustic-style track that expresses the love between Shin Se Kyung and Lee Dong Wook“s characters. The girls” lovely voices bring the lyrics to life to further heighten the emotions during the drama.

140911 KARA have a “gwiyomi battle” on Weekly Idol

On September 10, KARA guested on MBCevery1“s popular program, “Weekly Idol” for the first time and had a fun show with MCs Jung Hyung Don and Defconn.
To win a delicious dish from the program, four members had to do “gwiyomi” – “cutie player” and the MCs would choose the cutest one to give her food. WhileHara and Seungyeon were naturally adorable, Gyuri was teased by the hosts for her strange voice, which made the studio full of laughter. In the end, new maknae,Youngji, melted the MCs hearts with her youthful and lovely expression.
Youngji also showed her good and cute dancing skills by dancing to B.A.P”s “Warrior” and SHINee”s “Sherlock” in a feminine way.

140825 KARA has made a comeback as a four-member group

K-pop girl group KARA returned with mini album “DAY&NIGHT” and its title song “Mamma Mia.” The album”s title is comprised of three words; “DAY” means morning time, “&” means sunset, and “NIGHT” means glamorous night. The album”s concept is Let the party begin when the night comes. The title song “Mamma Mia” is a powerful dance track with additive beat and melody showing off KARA”s charm. Particularly, each member participated in writing the lyrics. The sixth track “The Story” is an acoustic medium ballad track and members wrote and sang the song in their own ways. Meanwhile, KARA held a showcase last week introducing their new songs for the first time to the public. The fan showcase attracted about 400 fans from South Korea, Japan, China and more.

140821 KARA to hold a mini fan meeting on the 24th

KARA will get up close with Kamilia during their upcoming mini fan meeting which has been set for the 24th!

According to their agency DSP Media on the 22nd, KARA is set to hold a mini fan meeting at Guam Park near SBS Deungchondong Open Hall following the broadcast of SBS' 'Inkigayo' on the 24th.

DSP Media stated, "Although [KARA] announced their comeback to fans through their showcase on the 18th, we have planned a mini fan meeting for fans to meet [KARA] more up close... This fan meeting will be arranged as a meaningful event for [KARA] and fans to communicate with each other closely."

KARA will also continue their comeback stages for "Mamma Mia" on music shows this week and weekend!

140820 KARA reveal the type of men they like + talk about new member Youngji

On the August 19 edition of SBS radio program “Cultwo Show“, KARA talked about the type of men they like as well as their new member, Youngji.

Hara said her ideal type was someone who takes care of himself well, saying, “I like someone who is good at his work and has a plan. He needs to be on time. I don”t like tardiness.”

Seungyeon talked about the traits she didn”t like in a man: “I don”t like men who get too fired up. There are people who are prepared to fight when you hit them. I think people who have fire in their eyes are tiring. I like someone who can embrace things with an open mind. I like people who have composure in their eyes.”

Gyuri said, “I like someone who takes care of himself well, has manners, and does not waste anything,” while Youngji said, “I like someone who does not use his strength on weak people but on strong people. The same goes for his authority or attention.”

In addition, they talked about their new member, Youngji! Hara said, “She is doing a good job at adapting, and she does not even tremble when we go out on variety shows. If anything, it feels like she is reading us.”

Youngji said, “It has sunk in that I”m going around and promoting with the other members after only seeing them on TV. I had my debut stage yesterday, and it was so emotional that I felt tears coming up. I didn”t cry and held it in.”

140820 KARA pick their ideal types among B1A4 and talk about their new song for 1theK”s “Ask In A Box”

Previous “Ask In A Box” guests B1A4 left KARA with the mission to give a visual ranking of the B1A4 members. KARA didn”t want any anti-fans on their case so they opted to pick the members that fit their ideal types instead. The members ended up choosing everyone but CNU and made up for it by giving him a big group “I love you” message at the end.

New member Youngji also showed how quickly she”s adjusting to broadcast by making up a clever poem using the name KARA, impressing her fellow members.

140818 KARA finally makes their quartet return with “Mamma Mia”!

“Mamma Mia” marks Heo Youngji’s official debut as a member of KARA, alongside Han Seungyeon, Park Gyuri, and Goo Hara. After releasing numerous individual, group, and video teasers, along with a final music video trailer, KARA officially made their August comeback for Kamilias to enjoy.

Following up with the diversity of style and concepts in their teasers, KARA incorporated both elegance as well as a bold sexiness for this comeback. With powerful yet sultry moves in their choreography, various degrees of curled hair, and chic black clothing paired with richly ruffled dresses, KARA showed many sides of themselves for their fans. Throughout the music video, viewers can watch solo shots of each member in either bright or dark settings, along with them being allured out of their reverie by some butterflies. By the end, they are seen partying on a patio glowing with light, with streaks in their hair and casual clothing, having overcome their heavy feelings for a potential lover.

140814 KARA releases MV trailer prior to official comeback on August 18th

With just four days until their official return with new member Youngji, KARA has revealed their official music video trailer! This is the biggest glimpse into their comeback music video following numerous concept teasers for “day” (1,2, 3), “sunset”, and “night”. They also released a group image teaser, a summer sunset film, track list, medley video, and individual video teasers (1, 2, 3, 4) released throughout late July and early August.

This music video trailer surprisingly veers off a bit from the previous teasers. It showcases the members dressed in chic black attire, dancing in a white room. Four solo views of the members are shown, showing unique violet color lens, various shades of brown hair, and permed curly hair for both Youngji and Hara. All in all, the makeup makes them look softly feminine and colorful.

Seungyeon, Gyuri, Hara, and Youngji are all seen either waiting for or discovering something, prior to the scene skipping to a huge night patio party. Fans could also hear part of the chorus being sung by the four members with strong vocals and in complete harmony.

KARA will be returning with their 6th mini-album on August 18th domestically, while in Japan they will release the Japanese version in three different editions, conjoined with their 3rd Japan tour in the Fall.

140723 KARA releases 1st teaser image for 6th mini album “Day & Night”

Kara kick off their upcoming comeback by releasing the first teaser image for 6th mini album “Day and Night” through official website.

The group”s comeback this time sure attracts much attention as this will be their 1st comeback with the new member Youngji after the departure of Nicole and Kang Jiyoung. The title song as it was previously revealed to be a work of the famous composer team Duble Sidekick.

Kara”s latest release was their 4th album “Full Bloom” last September.

Although Youngji was ultimately chosen to join KARA as the new member, “Kara Project” is not quite over yet as a director”s cut of the show was revealed!

140716 KARA reportedly complete filming for their first music video with new member Youngji

KARA reportedly completed filming for their first music video already with newly added member Youngji!

According to music insiders in an exclusive by Star News on the 16th, KARA teamed up with director ZANYBROS” Hong Won Ki for their music video filmed at a studio in Namyangju, Gyeonggido on the 13th. Director Hong told Star News, “Almost to the point that you couldn”t feel the empty spots left by two members, their energy was overwhelming… New member Youngji also followed along well. It was sweet to see the unnis take care of Youngji a lot and give her advice.”

KARA will make their comeback with a new mini-album with help from Duble Sidekick for their title track this August!

140712 KARA to comeback in August with new member Heo Youngji

KARA will be coming back in August with their new member, Heo Youngji.

In late June, DSP Media held a special survival program to choose a new member to join KARA after Kang Jiyoung and Nicole Jung left due to their contract expiration.

Despite strong protests against the project by fans of KARA, DSP Media went along with the project which was aired on MBC music, and among the 7 “baby KARA” trainees, Heo Youngji won the competition, becoming the newest member of KARA.

According to several media affiliates, KARA will be coming back with a new mini-album in August as a 4 member group, in which their title song will be composed by Duble Sidekick.

This will be the first time KARA has worked with Duble Sidekick, and thus many fans of K-pop have already started growing an interest as to what KARA’s newest release will be like.

Duble Sidekick has produced several hit songs, including Girl’s Day’s “Something”, A Pink’s “Mr. Chu”, g.o.d’s “Ugly Duckling” and Gary & Jungin’s “Your Scent”, and thus many are anticipating that KARA’s new release will also be a hit.

140704 DSP Media reveals the KARA members’ reaction to the addition of Youngji

On July 1, “Baby Kara” Youngji was ultimately chosen as the only new member of KARA for a total of four members rather than five. A rep from the agency DSP Media disclosed to one media outlet the reactions from the current KARA members at hearing this news.

The rep stated, “The members have great interest in Youngji. The three members of KARA personally went to “Baby KARA”s rehearsal site before their final competition in “Kara Project” and watched over their preparation process.

As the leader, Gyuri felt a responsibility to guide the team”s reformation no matter what. That”s why she had a lot of interest in this audition and watched over it more meticulously than anybody else.

When the three members of KARA saw the result of the final competition, they accepted it with composure. The three of them know better than anybody else that right now is a very important time. They embraced Youngji and are doing their best so that the new album can come out well. Watch over them.”

140702 “KARA Project’s” Youngji Chosen as the Newest Member of KARA

On the July 1 broadcast of MBC Music’s “KARA Project,” four of the seven contestants of ‘Baby KARA’ went head to head, competing to be chosen as the newest member of KARA.

During the live broadcast, Somin, Chaewon, Sojin, and Youngji performed KARA’s hit songs, as well as their own individual songs for their last stage of the competition. Each one of them showed off their distinct charms and gave all they had to be selected as the winner.

The final selection was made by adding up live voting and cumulative scores from the first five episodes of the show. The four members expressed their nervousness before the winner was finally announced, “Thank you for showing love to us until now. We will continue to work hard.”

In the end, Youngji was chosen as KARA’s newest member. After hearing her name, she was unable to hold back her tears and said, “I want to thank everyone. Thank you to everyone who supported me.”

140702 KARA To Make Comeback This Summer In Both Korea-Japan With New Member Youngji

Girl group KARA will be making a comeback this summer as a 4 member group.

On July 1, Youngji was chosen as the new member of KARA from the “KARA Project”.

KARA stated that they would work hard as a new group and asked fans to continue to support them.

At an interview after the “KARA Project” show, Youngji commented, “I am so happy to be part of KARA. I want to thank the other contestants from the show and and will never forget all the times we had together.”

Youngji also commented, “I hope to work hard so as not to ruin the image of KARA and will continue to remember and thank all those that helped me get to where I am now.”

On KARA”s Japan site, they also revealed that they would release a new song in both Korea and Japan on August 27 before starting their “KARA 3rd JAPAN TOUR 2014″ in the fall.

This will be their first comeback as a new group and many are curious to see how the new team will be.

140630 Baby Kara’s Choreography Teacher Spotted In Hyomin’s ‘Nice Body’ Music Video

Hyomin”s “Nice Body” music video has just been released, and Baby Kara fans may spot an unlikely familiar face.

On June 29, T-ara member Hyomin released the music video for her debut single, “Hot Body.” Within 24 hours, the video has garnered nearly 200,000 views on YouTube.

One of Hyomin”s back-up dancers in the music video is also the choreography teacher for Baby Kara, the seven K-pop trainees featured in the reality series “Kara Project.”



In “Kara Project,” the members of Baby Kara compete to become the newest members of Kara, after two members left the group earlier this year.

You can check out the dancer in “Nice Body,” as well as her teaching style in “Kara Project” in the English-subbed episode below.

Prior to its release, K-pop fans observed a similarity between the concept behind Hyomin”s music video and the stylings of Miley Cyrus.

“I also don”t like it,” commented MCarpes in the allkpop forum. “It seems a little bit vulgar.”

However, reception for the music video has been much more positive upon its release.

“I honestly felt this was actually better than expected,” wrote ckstar98 on YouTube. “I thought the music video would be completely sexual but Hyomin proved me wrong.”

“This is not bad at all, though she kind of looks like Eunjung here and her clothes are weird,” commented Shoujo Mei. “There are some parts in the song where she needs to sing better too, but she”s good. Well beyond my expectations. It”s hard going solo after all.”

Hyomin”s solo mini album is slated to drop on July 2, with productions by Brave Brothers and a collaboration with LOCO.

140625 Baby Kara show off their individual talents + take on last mission in fifth episode of ‘KARA Project’

This time, each Baby Kara got to have the spotlight all for herself as the girls got the chance to have a solo stage. Each girl did a special performance, showing off their dance moves, singing skills, and unique charms during their showcase in the fifth episode of “Kara Project“!

So Jin did an impressive cover of “Ain”t No Man,” putting her all into the sexy dance while Young Ji became a “Naughty Girl” for her special solo stage. Chae Won in the meantime wowed the crowd by singing “Love,” focusing more on capturing the emotions and showing her great vocals rather than dancing.
