The cast of ‘Jang Ok Jung, Living in Love‘ read through their scripts together for the first time in preparation for the filming that will begin shortly.

All of the actors, leading and supporting, were present for the reading, some of whom are Kim Tae Hee, Yoo Ah In, Lee Sang Yup, and Seungyeon. Although many had met each other for the first time, the reading was conducted in a bright atmosphere the entire time, and the actor’s passions shone through as they paid close attention to the smallest details as if they were actually filming.

Everyone present was especially surprised by Kim Tae Hee and Yoo Ah In’s passion, who really got into their characters. Along with their chemistry and their visuals, the couple, who has already been dubbed the ‘visual couple’ on set, have viewers already anticipating.

Also, since Seungyeon has made it to the script reading, it seems she’ll be definitely going on ahead with the drama despite her busy overseas schedule.

After the news of KARA member Goo Hara having to undergo surgery for appendicitis, DSP Media has updated worried fans with good news.

According to DSP, the surgery went well and though they have to wait for the doctor’s final conclusion, the results look good. Goo will be staying in the hospital for another 3-4 days before release. Because the singer’s health is of top priority, the agency will decide what to do about her planned schedule after.

130201 KARAs Han Seung Yeon is cast as the lead role in Jang Ok Jeong Lives in Love

KARA’s Han Seung Yeon was recently cast in the lead role in the new drama series Jang Ok Jeong Lives in Love.

On February 1, Story TV, the production company of the series reported that Han was cast in the lead role in SBS TV’s new drama series Jang Ok Jeong Lives in Love.

In the series, Han plays the role of royal concubine Choi. Royal concubine Choi is a woman who was born as a person of humble condition but becomes a royal concubine and makes her son a king. As a rival of Jang Ok Jeong (played by Kim Tae Hee), she fights for King Sukjong (played by Yoo Ah In).

Han has prepared for the series despite her busy schedule in Korea and Japan. DSP Media, Han’s agency, says, “Han has decided to appear in Jang Ok Jeong Lives in Love after careful consideration. She has constantly prepared to make her acting debut. She has appeared in some Korean drama series as a cameo and in a Japanese drama series, but this is the Korean drama series she appears in as a lead character. She’s practicing a lot of the series now.”

The story of Jang Ok Jeong Lives in Love revolves around a setup that Jang Ok Jeong, who used to be a symbol of a bad woman in Korea, was actually a fashion designer in the Joseon Dynasty. It will be a different story from the previous stories about Jang Ok Jeong. The series will start airing in April after Yawang goes off the air.

130201 DSP Media updates fans after Hara’s appendicitis surgery

Yesterday, KARA‘s Hara was revealed to be in the hospital to undergo surgery for appendicitis, leaving fans concerned. Putting fans’ worries to rest, DSP Media has updated fans regarding Hara’s current condition.

DSP Media stated, “Fortunately, the surgery went well. Although we have to wait for more of the doctor’s conclusion, the surgery went fine and the results are good. She will stay in the hospital for 3-4 more days. Because Hara’s health is first priority, we will discuss later on how to handle her planned schedules.”

Hara is currently taking her time to rest, and the agency has revealed that the studio recording she was scheduled for today (February 1st) has been pushed back to another time.

KARA‘s Seungyeon has been cast in her first ever historical genre drama!

She will be joining Yoo Ah In, Kim Tae Hee, among others on ‘Jang Ok Jung, Living in Love‘. Her character is from a poor background, but she becomes one of the several wives of the king and succeeds in having her son inherit the throne. She will be vying for Yoo Ah In’s love against Kim Tae Hee.

Even though Seungyeon is extremely busy traveling to and from Japan, she is said to have prepared diligently. Her label DSP Media said, “Seungyeon has been dreaming about acting. She looked carefully and sincerely over ‘Jang Ok Jung, Living in Love’. She has made cameos before and starred in Japanese dramas before, but this is her first time acting in a historical genre drama. She’s working hard and preparing her best.”

The drama will air in April.

130131 KARAs Goo Hara is operated on for appendicitis

KARA’s Goo Hara was operated on for appendicitis on January 31.

On the same day, KARA’s agency, DSP Media, said, “Goo was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and she will be operated on for appendicitis today.”

According to an official, Goo was taken to the emergency room in Seoul suffering from acute abdominal pains early in the morning.

The official said, “Since the surgery does not require a long term recovery, she will star performing as soon as she feels better.”

Goo will keep busy with her individual schedules when she gets better.

130130 2PM’s Taecyeon and KARA’s Nicole revealed to be considering offers to participate in a ‘world version’ of ‘We Got Married’

KARA‘s Nicole and 2PM‘s Taecyeon are in talks to star in a ‘world version’ of the popular faux-marriage variety program ‘We Got Married‘, according to agencies responsible for both idol groups.

Taecyeon was reported to have been confirmed for ‘We Got Married’ earlier on with the news about the potential leave of Lee Joon-Oh Yeon Seo couple. Although, JYP Entertainment had later denied the news, they have revealed that the idol is actually in consideration for not the regular show, but the ‘word version’.

JYP Entertainment and DSP Media both confirmed that the two idols had received offers from MBC. “We received casting proposals for a world version of ‘We Got Married,” JYP Entertainment said. “But his casting has not been confirmed. We are in discussions with the producers.”

DSP also confirmed the talks, saying, “Although it’s true that she has been considered for a ‘We Got Married’ world version, nothing has been confirmed. We are discussing it with the producers,” they said, echoing JYP Entertainment’s announcement. “It seems like there will be a cast announcement soon.”

The ‘world version’ of the show has been in talks since last year, and once completed, will be broadcast in 41 countries and will include two couples who are from different cultural backgrounds with one member of the couple from Korea and the other member being someone from overseas.
