121227 Kara and SNSD Have Highest Selling Albums in Japan by a K-Pop Group for 2012

Among albums released by a K-Pop group in Japan this past year, it was Kara and Girls’ Generation (SNSD) who found the biggest success.
Japan’s Oricon recently updated its yearly charts for 2012. Taking a look at the yearly albums chart, Kara and SNSD’s respective albums were came in at number 18 and 25 respectively for most albums sold this year.
Kara’s Super Girl which was released n November of 2011 has sold 295,651 copies so far while SNSD’s Girls’ Generation has sold 229,043 copies.
Kara’s Girls Forever and Kara Collection also placed number 66 and 99 on the same chart, giving Kara three album’s in the top 100 ranking.
Mr. Children’s Mr. Children 2005-2010 was the best selling album in Japan for 2012.
