130624 Kara's Park Gyuri and Ji Chang Wook Enjoy a Jeju Island Date for "Secret Love"

Kara‘s Park Gyuri and Ji Chang Wook have been spotted on a date in Jeju Island!

The two stars were seen together, filming for one of the episodes of the drama “Secret Love.” Park Gyuri and Ji Chang Wook’s episode is titled, “Have You Ever Had Coffee With An Angel?“

In the drama, Park Gyuri plays a travel agency employee, Park Sun Woo, who only has her eyes on one man since her college days. Ji Chang wook plays a guardian angel who comes to protect Sun Woo. Through this human and angel love story, the drama hopes to create a new genre of “healing fantasy romance.”

The first filming for this episode was held on May 25 in Jeju Island where it was reported that the two hit it off very well and showed great couple chemistry. Despite the fact that it was their first filming, both actors were able to completely dive into their characters.

After finishing the filming, Ji Chang Wook commented, “I thought an angel character was very charming and the fantasy aspect of this drama was very interesting,” and “I worked with Park Gyuri for the first time and since she has such a good personality and she’s so laidback, we had a lot of fun.”

Meanwhile, “Secret Love” will come in five parts, each featuring one Kara member, Park Gyuri, Nicole, Han Seung Yeon, Goo Hara and Kang Ji Young.

130625 KARA preps second Japanese tour

Girl group Kara is planning another tour in Japan, this one in October.

The girls delivered the news in person on Sunday at a fan meet called “Camilia School” in Yokohama, Japan.

The tour “Kara Second Japan Tour 2013 – Karasia” will bring the girls to major venues in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Kobe.

The group will present two-day performances in each city and aims to meet with 140,000 fans overall.

During the first tour in the country, the group traveled to six different cities, entertaining about 150,000 people. The girls proved their popularity in the country as their solo concert in Tokyo was completely sold out in January.

Kara pledged larger concerts for the second round in front of the 24,000 fans they met at the recent Japanese event over two days.

130625 Kara Successfully Completes Japanese Fan Meeting

On June 24, Kara held a fan meeting, called “Kamilia School,” at the Yokohama Arena according to Enews24.

The fan meeting was held in two parts. Kara performed a total of six songs, including their Japanese debut song “Mister,” in front of a crowd of 24,000 people.

After the performance, Han Seung Yeon talked about the “Kara Crisis” back in 2011, when Kara went through a difficult time.

She said with tears, “[Mister] was a song that came out when we were at our weakest. After seeing all of you here today, I’m happy to know we have our fans.”

Goo Hara said, “No matter what happens in the future, please stay by Kara’s side,” before bursting into tears. The entire stage was in a “sea of tears.”

Kara is anticipating the new album, “Thank You Summer Love,” set to debut on July 24, and has an arena tour concert, “Kara Second Japan Tour 2013,” planned for October. The girls will tour seven cities starting October 8, beginning with Yokohama and including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Fukui, and Kobe. An estimated 140,000 fans are expected to attend.

Kara’s first arena tour concert was in April 2012, and saw approximately 150,000 people in attendance over the six cities they visited. They even performed at the Tokyo Saitama Super Arena, where they received a warm welcome from fans. In January, Kara became the first Korean girl group to sell out their solo show at the Tokyo Dome.

130626 KARA Park Gyuri ‘Nail Salon Paris’ Drama to Broadcast in Japan this July

Girl group KARA member Park Gyuri, who played the lead role in the drama, “Nail Salon Paris,” will be broadcasting overseas to Japan.

This drama will be going overseas to Japan and broadcasting there starting on July 14 on Sundays at 10 PM.

The drama will feature all never before scenes that were cut out of the Korean broadcasting, making the Japanese version 2 episodes longer for a total of 12 episodes.

Other countries such as China, Philippines and other Asian countries are currently in the works of having this drama broadcasted as well.

It seems that this drama has received a positive response from fans and has been watched overseas around the world by fans through video streaming sites.

After the drama ended in Korea, the drama was spread overseas to the U.S. and Canada and has English subtitles for global fans as well.

Famous K-Pop stars KARA Park Gyuri and MBLAQ Thunder play a huge role in this drama and the positive response it is receiving from various parts of the world.

This drama aired its 9th episode on June 21 and is currently number 1 for cable drama ratings.

130620 KARAs Nicole is invited to the MTV Video Music Awards Japan

KARA member Nicole has been invited to the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2013 (VMAJ 2013). According to her agency, she will perform her solo “Lost” at the event, which will take place at the Makuhari Messe on June 22 starting at 6:00 p.m. This will be the first time for “Lost” to be broadcast, but Nicole has performed the song on stage before, at Kara’s KARASIA concert.

This year’s VMAJ will be cohosted by Maeda Atsuko and Kaneko Nobuaki and will air on Japan’s MTV Channel on the 23rd at 8:00 p.m.

130612 Kara keep their promise to fans, holding a fan meeting in Korea on June 13

The group Kara is going to hold a fan meeting in Korea to keep a promise they made to fans. According to a June 12th report by Kara’s agency, the group will meet their fan club Kamilia at Gyedang Hall in the Sangmyung Art Center, located in Hong-Ji dong, Seoul, on June 13. Kara will spend time with about 1,000 fans who enrolled in advance, with the theme of “Kamilia Awards.”

This event is planned to commemorate “Kamilia Day,” as announced by Kara at a big fan meeting on June 11, 2011, at which Kara decided to make every June 11th an anniversary for Kamilia, whose members always support Kara. In 2012, the meeting was attended by about 400 fans.

A staffer from the agency says, “Even though they are very busy, all the members of Kara will attend the fan meeting to keep the promise they made to fans two years ago. Kara will be the prize winner and fans will be the audience at the awards. There will be a variety of events and performances for the fans.”

The members of Kara are appearing in the drama series Secret Love, produced by Kim Kyu Tae, who is also known for producing That Winter, The Wind Blows.

The number of episodes in the upcoming drama, “Secret Love 2013″lines up exactly with the number of members in the pop girl group KARA.There are five members-Park Gyuri, Nicole Jung, Han Seungyeon, Goo Haraand Kang Jiyoung-so there will be five episodes, one for each member tostar in.

And while all the episodes will share a common theme, each will have adifferent focus, says director Kim Kyu Tae. The man behind the recenthit drama “That Winter The Wind Blows,” as well as “Padam, Padam” and”Worlds Within” will use the new format to explore various love themes,from first love, to lost love, to the kind of love that lasts forever.

“This will be a drama worth waiting for,” said a representative ofthe production company. “Kara and the director will create a fresh newtrend.”

The first episode is already being filmed in Jejudo. It stars GooHara as a college student who decides to check off all the items on herbucket list when she is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. One of herwishes is to travel. When she does take that longed for trip, she meets aman, played by Kim Young Kwang, and they fall in love. Is there anypoint to falling in love if you are about to die? Her character willfind out.

Of all the Kara members, Goo Hara may have the most actingexperience. Since her debut in 2007, Goo Hara has chiefly focused onmaking music, but she also played the role of Choi Da Hye, thepresident’s daughter in the drama “City Hunter.” She and the othermembers of Kara also appeared in the MBC sitcom, “Here He Comes.” Sheplayed a gang leader and also had a role in a Japanese sitcom,”Urakara.”

Kim Young Kwang, who will play her love interest, is best known forhis role in the romantic comedy “Love Rain.” He played two differentcharacters in segments that happened in the 1970s and in the presentday. He also played a supporting role in the drama “Bachelor’s VegetableStore.”

“Love Secret 2013″ will be translated into several languages. It willbe shown in Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Release dates have not yetbeen set.
