KARA‘s Han Seung Yeon recently revealed her childhood photos.

The photos have become a trending topic on online communities in a post titled, “This kid grows up to be part of a famous girl group” and contained various shots of the beloved singer as an elementary schooler.

In the photos, Han Seung Yeon appears to be no older than approximately 6-7 years old. The photos were revealed on a recent Japanese broadcast as well. Fans admired Han Seung Yeon’s unchanging face since her childhood, namely her huge eyes, youthful appearance and adorable facial features.

130207 Kang Ji Young Under Fire for Reckless Behavior

Kara’s Kang Ji Young is the latest girl group member to be criticized for her reckless behavior on the road.

A Pink’s Jung Eun Ji received a lot of scorn last month for violating a traffic law and potentially causing a huge traffic accident. Wonder Girls’ Sunye also received criticism for covering her wedding car’s license plate with “James♥Seonye.”

She posted an apology through twitter on January 28 that reads, “We rode the wedding car when it was pretty dark outside and were pretty out of it so we weren’t able to notice the car’s license plate.. We want to say that it was unintentional and deeply apologize for not catching that! Wedding car is only on wedding day! That’s only for formality~^^”

After the latest traffic violations committed by girl group members, netizens seemed to be keen on digging up any more childish behaviors committed by celebrities. They found a target through Kang Ji Young.

On December 31, 2012, Kang Ji Young posted her New Year’s greeting selca on twitter where she took a picture with her head hanging outside the car’s window. However, she’s being scorned because the car was in motion when she took the picture.

The members of Kara have been chosen as the new models for sports brand K-Swiss.

According to a K-Swiss representative, “We have determined that a distinctive and active brand image fits well with Kara member’s powerful dance skills. Through many variety shows, the members have proven their outstanding athletic movements. This also helped us to determine that Kara will suit well with our brand"

Recently, Kara had a K-Swiss 2013 S/S photo shoot at Korea University’s gymnasium. The members did their own fashion styling for the “It’s my show time” pictorial concept. As sports brand models, Kara is expected to spruce up the K-Swiss brand.

Meanwhile, the members of Kara recently became the first Korean female singers to hold a solo concert at the Tokyo Dome and cemented their titles as top Hallyu stars.

KARA has become the new endorsement models for footwear brand ‘K-Swiss‘, fitting in perfectly with the bright and active image of the brand.

The group recently finished shooting their pictorial for the 2013 S/S season at Korea University and showed off their individual style know-hows through the ‘it’s my show time’ concept for the shoot.

K-Swiss stated, “KARA was selected as endorsement models because of their powerful dancing abilities and liveliness shown through variety shows fit well with our dynamic brand image.”

130205 KARA to possibly advance into the European market with the help of Kobalt Music

After taking on the Korean and Japanese music scene, it’s been announced that KARA may possibly advance into the European market!

It’s said that music publisher Kobalt Music feels that KARA has what it takes to be a success in the European music scene judging from their success in Korea and Japan, and recently offered to help the group reach out to the markets of United Kingdom and Europe.

Kobalt Music’s proposal includes KARA releasing songs from Kobalt Music, and the company distributing the tracks in the United Kingdom and Europe. DSP Mediaconfirmed that they have indeed received such an offer on the 4th, commenting,“We will fully review the offer.”

KARA recently became the first Korean girl group to hold a solo concert at the exclusive Tokyo Dome and has been one of the representative Korean artists in Japan, and now have fans anticipating to see a possible expansion out into the European market.

KARA’s Han Seung Yeon recently talked about her pay.

On the episode of SBS TV’s Challenge! 1000 Songs that aired on February 3, Han showed off her talent in singing, teaming up with anchor Lee Yoona and dog trainer Lee Woong Jong.

Han said, “I’m here as a host of TV Animal Farm. I didn’t expect that I would appear on this show like this. KARA recently held a concert in Japan, and all members are working individually now.”

Host Lee Hwi Jae asked her, “Do you share your pay from the show with other members?” and Han said, “No, I share it with my agency.”

Dog trainer Lee talked about how Sang Geun, the dog that became popular after appearing on KBS 2TV’s Two Days and One Night, is doing now.

130204 Kara’s Goo Hara updates Twitter after surgery: “I’m okay!”

Kara‘s Goo Hara recently underwent a surgery for acute appendicitis.

After the successful surgery, the idol updated her Twitter with the message, “I am okay. Kamilia. Thank you for being so concerned with my health. My hand is swollen.”

Goo Hara underwent a surgery on January 31st at a hospital in Seoul.

Along with the tweet, Goo Hara shared a photo of herself resting and lying in bed while wearing patient uniform. She even posed with an OK sign, showing her good health status.

Netizens who saw her photo responded, “I hope she is okay now,” “Her before and after pictures look so different” and “Don’t be sick. Ge Well!” and more.

130201 Appendicitis sidelines Goo Ha-ra

KARA will be one member down for the time being following Goo Ha-ra‘s trip to the emergency room.

The idol singer was rushed to the hospital early yesterday after complaining of severe stomach pains.

Her manager came to the rescue and after being taken to a nearby hospital the 22-year-old was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and underwent surgery.

A DSP Media representative said fans shouldn’t worry too much and it wasn’t a big deal. “Nevertheless, we’ll be focusing on getting Goo back to top shape”.

As it stands the girls were to work on recording in Japan from today. Rest of the members will carry on as planned, and Goo will fill in her part later.

Goo is often regarded as the face of the group, and most recently was picked to be the model for Lotte Liquor’s line of soju alongside Sistar’s Hyolyn and 4Minute’s Hyun-a.

The three girl groups replaced Lee Hyo-lee in the ads and caused quite a sensation with their suggestive dance moves that came in three versions from tame to risque.

KARA Han Seungyeon to go Head to Head with Top Actress Kim Tae Hee? Confirmed for Role in SBS ‘Jang Ok Jung’

KARA Han Seungyeon has been casted for a role in the SBS drama, “Jang Ok Jung.”

This will be her official debut as an actress and will be acting alongside top stars such as Kim Tae Hee and Yoo Ah In.

Although she was busy with her foreign activities, she still found time to practice her role in the drama.



DSP Media commented, “Seungyeon has always dreamt of having an acting role and after a long debate, she decide to act in this drama. Although she has appeared as cameo roles or Japan dramas, this is her first acting debut in Korea. She is working hard to bring the best to the screen.”

This drama will begin this April after the end of “Queen of Ambition.”
